Porsche Fearless 28 (2008)Dec 12nd, 2019
If you asked anyone, a boat enthusiast or not, what car the Fearless Yachts 28 resembled, surely Porsche would be the response heard out of anyone’s mouth…they would be right too. It’s in the family. Custom designed by Porsche Design Studio, the exotic looking 28-footer was in fact designed by the same stylists behind the Porsche’s Carrera GT.
The Porsche Fearless design almost did not happen. Chuck DeAngelo, the COO behind Fearless Yachts at the time wanted to design something different and elegant. “Basically, I wanted to infuse something different into the boating industry” said DeAngelo. Fearless chose to work with Porsche Design Studio. From the beginning, Porsche Design Studio agreed to create it with Fearless but the name would not be attached. That all changed after the unveiling and first ride in a completed boat. Thus the Fearless 28 was born as the Fearless 28 by Porsche Design Studio.
The build of these unique boats was done in collaboration with Donzi at their production facility in Sarasota, Florida. Built with Carbon reinforced fibreglass and foam core. This sample, 1 of 4 was produced and equipped with a Mercury Racing HP600Sci engine and painted in Gun-metal silver. Also unique on this design is the hexagon wire mesh with stainless trim on the engine hatch as well as the through-hull jacketed exhaust tips. The interior comes equipped with twin electric dropout bolsters mounted on stainless steel frames, true luxury design with Porsche DNA.
This is by far the finest example available, designed after one of the finest hyper cars Porsche has ever produced…..the Carrera GT.
